Last Sunday saw Perthshire's boys Under 16 team continue their league campaign against a strong Aberdeen Grammar team at Forthbank in Stirling. The first half was dominated by a rather ill disciplined affair, with Perthshire seemiing to get out of bed the wrong side; niggling at each other as well as the umpires. Poor defence coupled with some poor finishing led to 'Shire going in 3 goals down at the break. Then came what must surely be this season's most inspiring team talk. Stand in coach, Kerri Targett, used the break to turn Perthshire into a disciplined passing side that more than competed with the Northern side. With the fightback in full flow goals from Murdo Elwis and Jamie Dow brought the score back to 3-2 and a tense last 10 minutes saw Perthshire almost gain a draw with several chances going abegging. However, with so much effort being spent up front inevitably led to gaps being left at the back, one of these was exploited by Aberdeen who secured their 4-2 win.
